How does the integration of a digital score in [S] Opera Edition work?

With [S] Opera Edition, Panthea offers a digital solution for innovative and efficient work with the score. Instead of an analog piano reduction, surtitlers use a scanned PDF excerpt that is displayed in a separate window of the software. Markers and notes can be drawn directly into this digital score using a stylus. These markers are linked to the surtitle cues in the editor of the main application, meaning that a clear, intuitive comparison between music and surtitles is possible at any time. Cueing is also possible to navigate from the editor using the touchscreen, which is a huge advantage, especially in the event of unforeseen deviations on stage.

I am currently working on paper; can I switch to a digital score?

Yes, simply scan scores and upload them to the software.

Do I need special hardware?

Yes, you will need a large touchscreen monitor. This allows you to follow the score in XL format as usual. We also recommend a Numpad and Joystick for an efficient and optimised workflow when navigating the cues.

What are the advantages of working with the [S] Opera Edition?

Digital storage ensures greater security and traceability – changes and notes are saved online and are easily accessible at any time. The automatic adjustment of the index numbers saves time during preparation, especially for pieces with changing recitatives or modular text variants. Handwritten comments and visual highlights can also be made directly in the score – neatly, quickly, and clearly.
